Dr. Esther Levine Pincus loves being a pediatric dentist, believing that enjoyable experiences at the dental office at a young age will pave the way for a positive dental future. Her goal is to make dental visits fun for patients and stress-free for parents. While counting and brushing teeth, Dr. Esther enjoys singing songs and talking about her patients’ hobbies. For children requiring extensive dental treatment with sedation, Dr. Esther holds hospital privileges at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she can treat patients under General Anesthesia when necessary.
Dr. Esther attended Barnard College of Columbia University, where she was voted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Esther completed her specialty pediatric training at Cohen Children’s Medical Center of Northwell Health, where she was chief resident of pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Esther is a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and she is a Pediatric Dental Specialist by the state of Illinois. She is also a member of the Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Harvard Odontological Society, and Alpha Omega dental fraternity. While at Harvard, Dr. Esther served on the board of her AO chapter for three years, including in her final role as President.
Dr. Esther has done research in both psychology and dentistry. She received a Scholars in Medicine Research Grant from Harvard Medical School to complete her psychology research focusing on eating disorders. Dr. Esther has presented on her dental research, Review of Clinical Competency Assessment Strategies in Predoctoral Dental Education, which she completed with collaborators at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Esther worked as a pediatric dentist in the New York metropolitan area before moving to Chicago with her family. She enjoys practicing yoga, reads just about anything, and loves to spend time with her husband and two children.
