Growing up on the North Shore, Dr. James Hu knows what it takes to be great dentist. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Genetics at the University Wisconsin – Madison and Doctor of Dental Medicine at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL. During dental school, he was accepted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, national dental honor society. He was also awarded the Senior Dental Student Certificate of Merit – for outstanding service to the procession – by the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an international honor dental organization.
He then completed a general practice residency in the University of Chicago – Evanston Hospital where he received advanced training in all aspects of dentistry including treatment of medically compromised patients, patient’s with special needs, full mouth reconstruction, surgical extractions, complex restorative dentistry and molar root canal therapy. During his time at Evanston Hospital, he was awarded multiple service value awards from other hospital staff for recognition in exceptional service, and professional work ethic.
During his early days, Dr. James learned the importance of the golden rule – do on to others as you want done to you and that is a mantra he lives by to this day. He treats all of his patients as family and ensures the patient’s comfort and ease throughout any procedure. Dr. James lives with his wife and son in Wilmette and loves spending time with them traveling, cooking, and exploring the world. Dr. James is also fluent in mandarin Chinese and welcomes any patients that require additional language assistance.
