Periodontal Surgery

After your Periodontal Surgery, make sure you follow these simple directions:

  • Rest after your procedure, use gauze in your mouth if there is still bleeding.
  • If an anesthetic was used, try not to chew any food or gum until the numbness has ended.
  • Resume normal brushing avoiding the treated area.
  • Take your medications or antibiotics (if prescribed) as stated by the physician.
  • Rinse your mouth with salt water up to 3 times a day to reduce swelling.

There will most likely be discomfort for a few days after your procedure.
However, if bleeding does not stop or pain increases, please call our office with your concerns.
